Tourist accommodation during summer season 2018 Increase in overnight stays in hotel accommodation during the 2018 summer season

Swiss hotel sector generated a record 41 million overnight stays in 2023

06.12.2018 - The hotel sector registered 22.0 million overnight stays in Switzerland during the summer tourist season (from May to October 2018). This represents an increase of 3.1% (+663 000 overnight stays) compared with the same period a year earlier. With a total of 12.5 million overnight stays, foreign demand rose by 3.6% (+441 000). Domestic visitors registered a 2.4% increase (+222 000) with 9.5 million units. These are the provisional results from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
