Report about Statistics on Social Medical Institutions

The needs of the Confederation and cantons are currently too diverse to enable a reduction in the burden of compiling the statistics on social medical institutions. The Federal Council approved a corresponding report at its meeting on 8.12.2017.

The report examines how the burden of compiling the statistics on social medical institutions (SOMED A) could be minimised. This statistic records data from institutions such as old people's and nursing homes with the aim of obtaining comparable information throughout Switzerland on care in these institutions.
