Producer and Import Price Index in November 2023 Producer and Import Price Index fell by 0.9% in November

Producer and Import Price Index rose by 0.1% in March

14.12.2023 - The Producer and Import Price Index fell in November 2023 by 0.9% compared with the previous month, reaching 107.9 points (December 2020 = 100). Lower prices were seen in particular for pharmaceutical products, petroleum and natural gas. Chemical products and petroleum products also became cheaper. Compared with November 2022, the price level of the whole range of domestic and imported products fell by 1.3%. These are the results from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).

In particular, lower prices for pharmaceutical products were responsible for the decrease in the producer price index compared with the previous month. Chemical products, petroleum products and electricity (for large consumers) also showed falling prices.

The import price index registered lower prices compared with October 2023, particularly for petroleum and natural gas, petroleum products and chemical products. Basic metals and semi-finished metal products, basic pharmaceutical products, paper and paper products as well as computers, also became cheaper.
