Swiss Labour Force Survey 2022: yearly averages
In Switzerland, 4.5 million people aged between 15 and 64 were in employment in 2022, 7.8% more than in 2012. More than a third of them worked part-time. Between 2012 and 2022, the increase in the number of employed people working part-time was more than three times greater than that of those working full-time (+14.7% compared with +4.4%). Although the majority of part-time workers are women, the share among men is growing fast. Furthermore, the proportion of people working part-time depends on many other factors such as education, age and family situation.
