The Swiss Film and cinema statistics provides comprehensive information about the cinema sector: Operation, rental, number of visitors and production. They provide an overview of the film and cinema landscape in Switzerland and enable an evaluation of the diversity of films available in cinemas in the different regions as well as the implementation of automatic measures to support Swiss cinema (Confederation’s Film Promotion, “Success Cinema” programme). An extension to these statistics also includes electronic views and subscription services (video on demand - VoD) and views against payment of films via such services.
A large part of the film and cinema statistics is currently available in German and French only. The video on demand statistics, however are also available in English.
