Compulsory education

In 2022/23, around 1 011 400 pupils participated in compulsory education, representing an increase of 10,8% compared with 2010/11.

Tertiary level - Higher education institutions

The number of students at higher education institutions (UIT, UAS or UTE) increased by 18% during the last ten years. In 2023/24, about 276 500 students are enrolled at a Swiss higher education institution.
