Unemployment rate based on ILO definition

This indicator provides information on labour supply under-utilisation. It reflects the inability of an economy to create jobs for people who are available for work and actively seeking employment.

From an integration perspective, a decrease in the unemployment rate indicates an improved situation.

Definitions

Unemployed based on ILO definition: people aged between 15 and 74 who did not work at all in the reference week, have been actively seeking work over the previous four weeks and were available for work.

Methodologies

The unemployment rate based on ILO definition corresponds to the share of unemployed persons based on the ILO definition as a percentage of the working population.
