2011 Swiss Adult Education Survey 77% of the population takes part in continuing education

Neuchâtel, 09.10.2012 (FSO) - Demand for continuing education is great in Switzerland. Attendance at continuing education events and independent learning are both popular. But participation in continuing education is not equally high in all population groups. There are marked differences in participation rates depending on integration in the labour market or level of education. This is shown by initial results from the Federal Statistical Office's (FSO) 2011 Swiss Adult Education Survey, a survey from the new modular population census system.
