The Buildings and Dwellings statistic (BDS) replaces the Buildings and Dwellings survey that used to take place every 10 years as part of the population census (PC). The BDS is based on the Federal Register of Buildings and Dwellings (RBD) in combination with data from the Population and Household Statistics (STATPOP) and from the FPC's Structural Survey (SS). It provides information on the structure of the whole buildings and dwellings stock and on the population's living conditions (e.g. occupation density per room or dwelling, floor space per person).
