Medical pratices and primary care in Switzerland 2018-2021

At the end of 2021, 9184 primary care doctors were working in Switzerland. The working week of doctors in rural areas was on average 8% longer (in hours) than that of doctors in towns. There was one primary care doctor per 1000 inhabitants in urban centres and 0.4 per 1000 inhabitants in rural areas.
