Social assistance recipients in 2020
In 2020, 272 100 persons in Switzerland received financial benefits from social assistance on at least one occasion. The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on social assistance to date have been minor; the social assistance rate has remained unchanged at 3.2%. However, the number of people leaving the economic social assistance system in 2020 decreased. These are some of the findings of the Swiss Social Assistance Statistics.
