Finance statistics of social assistance in the broader sense, 2015 Slight increase in social assistance expenditure

Neuchâtel, 18.05.2017 (FSO) - In 2015 expenditure on social assistance in the narrow sense rose in nominal terms by 2.1% to CHF 2.6 billion. The previous year's increase was 5.5%. Average expenditure per beneficiary was CHF 9854, an increase of 0.7% compared with 2014. Expenditure on social assistance in the broader sense rose 1.9% to CHF 8 billion. These are the latest findings from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
