Buildings and Dwellings Statistics 2022
Switzerland had 1.79 million residential buildings and 4.74 million dwellings in 2022. 39% of buildings were heated by oil and 18% by gas. 19% of buildings had heat pumps. The latter's share has risen fourfold since 2000. Two out of three households used fossil fuels for heating (40% oil and 25% gas).
