Convictions of adults in 2022
In 2022, with 103 156 convictions, the number of entries in the criminal records rose by 3% compared with the previous year. While convictions under the Road Traffic Act rose by 6%, those under the Narcotics Act fell (-13%). In all, 1 945 expulsions were pronounced. Since 2007, the (suspended) financial penalty has been the most frequently imposed sentence (69% of all convictions). This situation has not changed since short custodial sentences in their entirety were reintroduced in 2018.
