Health insurance premium index 2017 Premium increases from 2016 to 2017 curb growth in disposable income by 0.3 percentage points

Premium increases curbed growth in disposable income from 2022 and 2023 by 0.4 percentage points

Neuchâtel, 24.11.2017 (FSO) - The health insurance premium index (KVPI) has registered an increase of 3.8% for premiums in 2017 compared with the previous year, reaching an index level of 185.3 points (basis 1999=100). By means of the KVPI, the effects of the evolution of premiums on the growth of disposable income can be calculated. According to the Federal Statistical Office's KVPI model calculation, rising premiums curbed the growth of the average disposable income by 0.3 percentage points in 2017.
