Increased activity in almost six out of ten psychiatric practices in 2020 against the backdrop of the pandemic
In 2017, Switzerland had 17 560 medical practices and ambulatory centres. More than 20 000 physicians worked on 17 860 sites. On average, physicians had an activity rate of 75%. Almost one in two physicians aged 35 to 44 worked in primary care. Three quarters of physicians under the age of 45 managed their patients’ medical files completely electronically. These are some of the results of the latest survey of structural data from medical practices and ambulatory centres carried out by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
