Tourist accommodation in the first half of 2022 Swiss hotel sector: 47.3% increase in overnight stays in first half of 2022

Swiss hotel sector generated a record 41 million overnight stays in 2023

05.08.2022 - The Swiss hotel sector recorded 16.9 million overnight stays in the first half of 2022, an increase of 47.3% (+5.4 million) compared with the same period in 2021. With a total of 10.0 million overnight stays, domestic demand rose by 8.0% (+740 000). Foreign visitors registered a sharp increase (+212.8% / +4.7 million) at 6.9 million overnight stays. These are the provisional results from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
