Financial statistics of social assistance in the broader sense 2013 and 2014 Expenditure continues to rise
Neuchâtel, 04.10.2016 (FSO) - In 2014 expenditure on social assistance in the broader sense rose in nominal terms by 4.6% to CHF 7.9 billion. The previous year's increase was 3.6%. Roughly 60% of expenditure was for benefits supplementary to old-age and survivors'/invalidity insurance. Social assistance in the narrower sense, i.e. economic social assistance, accounted for 33% of all expenditure. These are the latest findings from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
