Neuchâtel, 19.11.2015 (FSO) - Nursing home costs amounted to CHF 9.5 billion in 2014, costing an average of CHF 8700 francs per resident, per month. Almost two-thirds of these costs were invoiced to residents, whereas the cantons and insurance companies financed 16% and 19% of costs respectively. The costs of home care services were almost 5 times lower than those of nursing homes (CHF 2 billion). These are some of the findings from the 2014 Statistics on Home Care Services and the Statistics on Medico-Social Institutions from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
