Swiss residential property price index in the 3rd quarter 2021 Residential property prices increase by 2.4% in 3rd quarter 2021

Residential property prices fell by 1.0% in 1st quarter 2024

16.11.2021 - The Swiss residential property price index (IMPI) rose in the 3rd quarter 2021 compared with the previous quarter by 2.4% and reached 107.8 points (4th quarter 2019 = 100). Compared with the same quarter of the previous year, inflation was 6.9%. These are the results from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).

In the 3rd quarter 2021, in comparison with the previous quarter across Switzerland both the prices of single-family houses (+2.4%) and those of condominiums increased (+2.3%). The market segment of single-family houses showed higher prices than in the 2nd quarter 2021 in all municipality types. The greatest price increase was seen in the category of urban municipalities of a small or outside agglomeration (+3.4%). Prices for condominiums particularly increased in urban municipalities of a large agglomeration (+4.4%). A decline in prices for condominiums was only recorded in urban municipalities of a small or outside agglomeration (-0.5%).
