Swiss Labour Force Survey and its derivative statistics: hours worked in 2020
In 2020, a year marked by the COVID-19 pandemic, the total number of hours worked in Switzerland reached 7.608 billion, representing a decline of 3.7% compared with the previous year. The decline was particularly pronounced in the accommodation and food service activities sector (–29.0%). Over the same period, the volume of absences rose considerably (rising from 368 to 946 million hours).
