Rise in births and increasing family size in 2021
25.06.2020 - The final figures from the Vital Statistics of the Federal Statistical Office (FSO) for 2019 confirm the increase in the number of deaths (+1.0%) and divorces (+2.1%) announced in February during the publication of the provisional figures. They also highlight the decrease in the number of births
(–1.9%) and marriages (–4.3%) compared with 2018. The same trends were seen in the cantons.
