Swiss National Accounts 2022 2.6% increase in Switzerland's GDP in 2022

24.08.2023 - Switzerland's gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 2.6% in 2022 at the previous year's prices. This sustained growth is part of a favourable environment characterised by a recovery in services (transport, food and beverage serving), which were still affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, and strong growth in the manufacturing industry. The gross national income (GNI) at current prices registered an increase of 4.7% following a slight decrease in the balance of income with the rest of the world. These initial estimates for 2022 from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO) are accompanied by a marked revision of 2021 GDP growth at previous year's prices, which is now set at 5.4% compared with 4.2% in the initial estimates.
