Swiss Health Survey 2007 Adverse working conditions: a health risk

Neuchâtel, 20.08.2010 (FSO) - Employees who are exposed to physical hazards at work or an adverse psychosocial work environment are twice as likely to negatively evaluate their health and to suffer psychological distress. Unemployed persons are five times more likely to report poor health than employed persons who are not worried about losing their job. This emerges from the analysis of data from the Swiss Health Survey conducted in 2007 by the Federal Statistical Office.
