Non-standard forms of employment 2010-2020 1 in 10 employees in non-standard employment in 2020

10.11.2022 - In 2020, 10% of employees were in a non-standard form of employment. Work on call was the most common (5.1% of employees), followed by fixed-term contracts of less than one year (3.1%) and low work-time percentages (2.3%). 1.2% of employees were employed via (and paid by) temporary recruitment services. 15 to 24 year-olds were disproportionately represented in non-standard forms of employment. These are some of the findings from the “Non-standard forms of employment 2010–2020” publication (available in German and French only) from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).

You can find further information such as graphs in the press releases in German, French and Italian. The English version only contains the lead of the press release.
