Neuchâtel, 13/05/2014 (FSO) - The percentage of gross domestic product spent on health expenditure increased from 11.0 to 11.5% in 2012. Total health care expenditure in 2012 amounted to CHF 68 billion, 5.3% more than in the previous year. A major contributor here was the CHF 2.3 billion increase in hospital expenditure. These are the findings of the Federal Statistical Office's (FSO) latest provisional figures on the costs and financing of the health care system.
