Provisional findings on population growth in Switzerland in 2009 The Swiss population continues to grow

Neuchâtel, 25.02.2010 (FSO) - At the end of 2009, Switzerland's permanent resident population reached 7,783,000 inhabitants, i.e. an increase of 81,200 persons compared with 2008, according to provisional results from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO). This 1.1% population increase is below the record growth of 2008 and is comparable to that registered in 2007.
