Opinion on equal opportunities

This indicator shows the degree of support for the idea that everyone living in Switzerland should enjoy equal opportunities, regardless of their nationality.

From an integration perspective, the aim is to increase the percentage of people supporting equality of opportunity between Swiss and foreign nationals living in Switzerland.

Methodologies

This indicator is based on the answer to the following question:

From 2012 to 2014: “Do you agree that foreign nationals in Switzerland should have the same opportunities as Swiss nationals or that Swiss nationals should have better opportunities? ".

Since 2015: "Do you agree that foreign nationals living in Switzerland should have the same opportunities as Swiss nationals, or do you think that Swiss nationals should have better opportunities?  (foreign nationals = foreign people living in Switzerland permanently (B and C permits))".

This indicator shows the percentage of people who support equal opportunities.

Following changes to the survey framework and improvements in the weighting model, results from 2014 onwards can no longer be directly compared with those from previous years (series break). See the document below for further details.
