Confidence in the political system and in the police

This indicator provides information on the confidence that the population has in political institutions and in the police.

From an integration perspective, the aim is to increase the population’s confidence in Switzerland's institutions.

Methodologies

This indicator provides information on the confidence that the population has in different Swiss institutions. The following institutions are considered:

1.    The political system in Switzerland;
2.    The police in Switzerland.

This indicator is based on the answer to the following question:

“What level of trust do you have in each of the following institutions, on a scale of 0 "no trust" and 10 "complete and full trust? ‘.

This indicator presents the percentage of the resident population aged 16 and over that answered between 8 and 10.

Following changes to the survey framework and improvements in the weighting model, results from 2014 onwards can no longer be directly compared with those from previous years (series break). See the document below for further details.
