From an integration perspective, the aim is to increase the population’s confidence in Switzerland's institutions.
The population with a migration background shows the same level of confidence in the political system and in the police as the population with no such background. On the other hand, the first generation is more likely to have a high level of confidence in the political system and in the police than the rest of the population groups studied.
Since 2014, there has been an increase in the share of people with a high level of confidence in the political system and in the police for all the population groups studied, with the exception of the second or subsequent generations.
In the Lake Geneva region, the population with a migration background has significantly greater confidence in the political system than the population without such a background.
In no major regions, people with a migration background have a significantly greater confidence in the police compared with the population without a migration background.
This indicator provides information on the confidence that the population has in different Swiss institutions. The following institutions are considered:
1. The political system in Switzerland;
2. The police in Switzerland.
This indicator is based on the answer to the following question:
“What level of trust do you have in each of the following institutions, on a scale of 0 "no trust" and 10 "complete and full trust? ‘.
This indicator presents the percentage of the resident population aged 16 and over that answered between 8 and 10.
