Tourism balance of payments 2013 Swiss tourism records growth again

Neuchâtel, 23.06.2014 (FSO) - According to the preliminary estimates of the Federal Statistical Office (FSO), foreign visitors spent CHF 15.6 billion in Switzerland in 2013, i.e. 550 million (+3.6%) more than in 2012. Spending by Swiss visitors abroad also increased (+4.4%), reaching a new peak of CHF 14.9 billion. Both of these developments have resulted in a slight decrease in the tourism balance of payments which has declined by CHF 74 million compared with 2012.
