Neuchâtel, 15.06.2012 (FSO) - According to preliminary estimates by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO), net revenues from foreign visitors amounted to CHF 15.6 billion in 2011, i.e. almost CHF 26 million more than in the previous year (+0.2 %). Expenditure by Swiss travellers abroad reached CHF 12.4 billion during the same period (+6.4%). The result for the tourism balance of payments was a surplus of CHF 3.2 billion, i.e. just over CHF 700 million below the previous year's level.
