Switzerland's population continued to grow in 2022

04.04.2023 - Switzerland's permanent resident population grew in 2022. On 31 December, it was over 8.8 million. The number of deaths and marriages also rose, while the number of births and divorces fell. Life expectancy remained stable for men and fell slightly for women. Immigration, emigration and net migration all rose. These are some of the provisional annual results for 2022 from the Federal Statistical Office’s Population and Household Statistics and Vital Statistics.
