Swiss Cancer Report 2015 Rise in number of cancer patients coincides with decline in mortality

Neuchâtel, 21.03.2016 (FSO) - The increasing number of older people has lead to rising numbers of cancer patients and of deaths caused by cancer. At the same time, the risk of dying from cancer has fallen in every age group. The Swiss Cancer Report 2015 from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO), the National Institute for Cancer Epidemiology and Registration (NICER) and the Swiss Childhood Cancer Registry (SCCR) has been published today with the latest available data on cancer in Switzerland.
