Community Nursing Statistics (Spitex Statistics) 2008 Three per cent of the Swiss population uses community nursing services

Neuchâtel, 22.02.2010 (FSO) - In 2008 some 211,000 customers used community nursing services, representing a share of 3% of the total population. They received home help and nursing care from just under 29,000 persons working in 604 community nursing organisations. Three-quarters of customers received nursing care services. Compared with the previous year, community nursing organisations were paid 9% more subsidies from the municipalities and 6% more from the cantons. These findings are from the Community Nursing Statistics 2008, published by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
