The number of employed persons rose by 2.2% and the unemployment rate (ILO) fell to 3.9% in the 4th quarter 2023

13.12.2021 - In the 3rd quarter 2021, the number of employed persons in Switzerland rose by 0.9% compared with the same quarter in 2020. The number of actual weekly hours worked per employed person increased by 3.7%, returning to its pre-COVID-19 pandemic level. During the same period, the unemployment rate as defined by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) declined from 5.3% to 5.1% in Switzerland and from 7.6% to 6.7% in the EU. These are some of the results of the Swiss Labour Force Survey (SLFS).
