Wages in selected economic branches

There are observable wage gaps between women and men across all branches of the economy. In addition, wages vary considerably from one branch to another. In the economic branches with the lowest wages, the wage gap between women and men ranges between 6% and 20%. The wage gap is small in the branch of accommodation and food service activities, in which 55% of the workforce is female. It is wide in manufacture of textiles and apparel, with a female workforce of 63%. Also in the highest-paying industrial branches high wage gaps are present: women earn between 6% and 27% less than men.
