Social insurances within the Confederation's scope of responsibility represent a key part of Switzerland's social protection system. Their benefits protect households and individuals against a number of risks and the financial consequences of these which they might not be able to face alone. The Total Social Insurance Accounts (TSIA) provide detailed information on the finances of social insurances. This statistic is established by the Federal Social Insurance Office (FSIO).

Further information
Two complementary statistics
The TSIA is published by the Federal Social Insurance Office (FSIO). It provides detailed information on expenditure and revenue from Switzerland's nine key social insurances: AVS, AI, PC, PP, AMal, AA, APG, AC and AF. The TSIA also enables analyses to be carried out on a national scale and, together with the Social Insurance Statistics, provides key information on social insurance in Switzerland.
The TSSA includes not only social insurance benefits but also social benefits from public administrations and some benefits from employers and non-profit organisations. The TSSA is a synthesis statistic compiled by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO) and based on a method and concepts from the European Union's statistical office (Eurostat).
