Growth in the number of old-age pension beneficiaries is slightly higher than in the previous survey (+3.2%).
Compared with 2020, the number of disability pension beneficiaries decreased very slightly (-0.1%) to 111 883.
At the end of 2021, 192 806 persons received CHF 3.9 billion in the form of a surviving spouse's pension.

Since the end of 2016 the total of all current pensions has increased almost linearly, reaching CHF 30.8 billion by the end of 2021.
Current old-age pensions increased by 2.0% to CHF 24,6 billion.
The annual average old-age pensions amounted to CHF 28 268 per person at the end of the year under review (2020: CHF 28 618).
