Urban Switzerland - cities and regions
As part of the City Statistics project and in partnership with the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO, the Federal Office for Spatial Development ARE and the Federal Housing Office OFL, the FSO provides more than 180 variables in the form of interactive tables, according to the following geographic levels: the agglomerations (centre, commuting zone and total), the statistical cities, the areas with urban character, the urban-rural typology and labour market areas.
The variables published in these interactive tables were selected based on the list of variables collected by Eurostat as part of the City Statistics European project adapted and extended for Switzerland. The topics covered include demographics, housing, health, the labour market, education, environment, transport and tourism. The list of variables, their sources and specifications are described in the file below.
The available geographical levels enable Switzerland's urban areas to be considered using various scales. The definitions and methods used to calculate these analytical regions or territorial typologies are described in the pages considering the territorial classifications.
The interactive tables make it easy to select specific variables and territories in line with one’s own needs. The availability of a single table of variables already aggregated which covers several topics and shows various territorial classifications aims to facilitate the work of users. Comparisons can therefore be made more easily between territories and dimensions. We nonetheless recommend that you consult the information in the list of variables and the meta information before extracting data from the interactive tables.
Dans le cadre du projet City Statistics, l’OFS met à disposition, en partenariat avec le Secrétariat d'Etat à l'économie SECO, l’Office fédéral du développement territorial ARE et l’Office fédéral du logement OFL, plus de 180 variables, sous la forme de tableaux interactifs, selon les niveaux géographiques suivants : les agglomérations (centre, couronne et total), les villes statistiques, l’espace à caractère urbain, la typologie urbain-rural et les bassins d’emploi.
Les variables publiées dans ces tableaux interactifs ont été sélectionnées sur la base de la liste des variables collectées par Eurostat dans le cadre du projet européen City Statistics adaptée et étendue pour la Suisse. Les thèmes couverts comprennent la démographie, le logement, la santé, le marché du travail, l'éducation, l'environnement, les transports ou le tourisme. La liste des variables, leurs sources et spécifications sont décrites dans le fichier ci-dessous.
Les niveaux géographiques mis à disposition permettent d’approcher à différentes échelles l’urbanité de la Suisse. Les définitions et méthodes utilisées pour calculer ces régions d’analyses ou typologies territoriales sont décrites dans les pages traitant des Niveaux géographiques.
Les tableaux interactifs permettent de manière simple et selon ses propres besoins de sélectionner des variables et des territoires spécifiques. La mise à disposition dans un seul tableau de variables déjà agrégées concernant plusieurs thèmes et selon différents niveaux géographiques a pour but de faciliter le travail des utilisateurs. Les comparaisons entre territoires et dimensions sont ainsi plus aisées. Nous recommandons toutefois vivement de consulter les informations contenues dans la liste des variables et dans les méta-informations avant d’extraire des données des tableaux interactifs.
