On average, people in Switzerland covered 30 kilometres domestically every day in 2021, and took around 80 minutes to do so. This is shown by the latest figures on the population's mobility behaviour.

At a glance

The total distance covered on Swiss roads, rail and cable cars added up to almost 123 billion person-kilometres. This was 20% more than in 2000, but 11% less than in 2019, the year before the COVID pandemic started.
