Digital crime

In 2023, 43 839 offences with a digital crime component were registered by the police, most of which were in the area of «Economic cybercrime» (92%), followed by «Cyber sexual crimes» (6%) and «Cyber damage to reputation and unfair practices» (2%).

Domestic violence

In 2023, the police registered 19 918 offences in domestic violence. 11 479 victims of domestic violence were registered, 70% of whom were female.

At a glance

The police crime statistics (PCS) provide information on offences registered by the police, accused persons and victims. It incluces offences recorded by the police against the Swiss Criminal Code (SCC), the Narcotics Act (NarcA) and the Foreign Nationals and Integration Act (FNIA) and provides information on various thematic areas such as domestic violence and digital crime. The PCS exist in its current form since 2009.
