Overtime

Overtime corresponds to paid or non-paid hours

  • performed in addition to normal working hours and
  • which are not compensated for by leave or subsequent reductions in working time as part of flexible working time.

The overtime rate of full-time employees, i.e. the annual hours of overtime as a percentage of annual working hours as per contract, varies depending on the economic sector: financial and insurance activities (3.3%), professional, scientific and technical activities (2.4%) and information and communication (1.8%) held the top three places. In 2022, the lowest rates were found in public administration, agriculture and forestry and transportation and storage (0.8% for these 3 branches).
