Multiple employment (several jobs)

In 2023, 377 000 employed persons (excluding apprentices) in Switzerland said that they exercised more than one professional activity, i. e. 8.1% of the employed population.

A higher proportion of women than men split their professional activity in this way (10.7% of employed women compared with 5.9% of employed men).

Over the past three decades, the share of persons in multiple employment has risen markedly, from 4.1% of the total number of employed persons in 1991 to 8.1% in 2023.
