The number of employed persons rose by 2.2% and the unemployment rate (ILO) fell to 3.9% in the 4th quarter 2023

14.05.2020 - The number of employed persons in Switzerland rose by 1.1% between the 1st quarter 2019 and the 1st quarter 2020. During the same period, the unemployment rate as defined by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) declined from 4.9% to 4.5%. These indicators reflect the averages for the quarter and are thus only marginally affected by the COVID-19 crisis. Initial estimates, however, indicate a decline in the hours worked during the last 2 weeks of the quarter. These are some of the results of the Swiss Labour Force Survey (SLFS).
