MONET 2030: Final energy consumption by energy source

SDG 7: Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all

Swiss target 7.1: A sufficient, highly diversified, reliable, profitable and environment-friendly energy supply as well as the resilience of the requisite infrastructure is guaranteed.

Significance of the indicator
The indicator shows the proportional distribution of final energy consumption across the different energy sources. Diversification of energy sources helps ensure a reliable energy supply, as it reduces the dependence on one single energy source. A reduction in the percentage of petroleum products is a step towards sustainable development.

International comparability
The indicator is not comparable at international level.
