Mandatory accident insurance

The compulsory accident insurance is a personal insurance dealing with the economic consequences of professional accidents, non-professional accidents and occupational diseases. Its benefits help to redress damages in terms of health and employment as a result of an accident or an occupational disease.

Financing

Employers pay the premiums for the insurance against professional accidents and occupational disease. Generally, employees pay the premiums for the insurance against non-professional accidents. The employer has to pay the whole premium and deducts the employees' share from their wages.
