As would be expected, the percentage of people who assess their health as good or very good falls with increasing age.
Institutionalised voluntary work includes honorary and voluntary activities in associations and organisations, whereas informal voluntary work consists of personal assistance to friends and relatives. The percentage of men in institutionalised voluntary work for all age groups is greater than that of women. The reverse is true for informal voluntary work, except for the highest age group.
In 2017, 13.5% of the 55 to 64 year-olds and 12.5% of the 65 to 75 year-olds received help from family and friends for health reasons. This percentage only begins to increase significantly from the age of 75. This increase can be attributed in particular to the high proportion of women aged 75 and over who receive support from their families and friends. |
