Amount of benefits paid from old age provision (pensioners)

The median value paid annually to pensioners up to 5 years after the legal retirement age is CHF 21,600 from the OASI pension and CHF 24,000 from occupational pension plans. Although only small differences exist between men and women with regard to the amount of OASI pensions they receive, benefits from occupational pension plans (BV/PP) vary greatly between the sexes.

Amount of benefits paid from old age provision (early retirement)

The median value of OASI benefits received by pensioners taking early retirement was the same as for pensioners retiring at the legal retirement age - CHF 21,600. The median value from occupational pension plans was just under CHF 32,300 - about CHF 8000 higher than the median pension of pensioners retiring at the legal retirement age.

Supplementary OASI benefits rate

The supplementary OASI benefits rate (SB-rate) is an indicator for combated poverty in old age. The diagram shows that the SB-rate increases with age, especially among women.
