Statistical report of the social situation in Switzerland

The Swiss social statistics report was published by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO) for the first time in 2011. Since then, it is published every four years.

The information presented in this report helps to promote a better understanding of social policy in Switzerland. Its aim is therefore as follows:

  • To describe the main socio-economic changes and living conditions of the population in Switzerland;
  • To describe the development of social policy;
  • To identify those most at risk of social exclusion.
