The rate of employees with a managerial function (excluding apprentices) allows the position on the labour market of people from different population groups to be assessed. This indicator enables the different population groups to be placed on a hierarchical job scale.
The population without a migration background had 34% of employees with a managerial function in 2019. In the population with a migration background, the rate was significantly lower at 32%. People with a migration background from the second or subsequent generations and those from the first generation have a rate equal to that of the entire population with a migration background.
Between 2012 and 2019, the rate of employees with a managerial function remained stable in the population without a migration background. Among the population groups with a migration background, however, rates fluctuated depending on the year. The rate of the first generation with a migration background rose gradually and significantly, increasing from 30% in 2012 to 32% in 2019. In the second or subsequent generations, the rate did not change significantly in this period of time.
In most major regions, there is no significant difference in the rate of employees with managerial function between the population without a migration background and that without. An exception can be observed among the Espace Mittelland, where the population without a migration background has a significantly higher rate of employees with managerial function than the population with a migration background (34% against 29%).
